Standardized Assessment

This would involve formal screening and testing of the problems. Personality assessment can also be provided.

Psychological Profiling

A psychological profile will be developed based on the clinical interview and the formal assessment.

Diagnosis (if needed)

The Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Psychiatric Disorders (DSM-V-TR) will be used to provide the diagnosis. However, if the client does not want it, it will not be provided.

Building a therapeutic alliance

A client-centered approach will be used to build rapport with the client. Empathy and unconditional positive regard is the cornerstone of a true therapeutic alliance. This will be ensured.

Management based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy and presenting issues

The practitioner is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, which is evidence-based psychotherapy. Hence the treatment of the client’s symptoms will be done through CBT techniques.

Dream analysis based on Psychodynamic practice

Dream content, if seen to be significant will be analyzed to provide a more comprehensive management approach.

Adherence to principles of privacy and confidentiality, as per the APA code of ethics.

Therapeutic practice will be according to the American Psychological Association’s code of ethics. All matters discussed with the therapist will be kept confidential, under lock and key and password-protected devices. The privacy of the client’s personal identity will be paramount.

General and specific case conceptualization.

The client’s presenting complaints and prior history will be conceptualized by the clinical psychologist and shared with the client. This can be altered, modified and/or extended as the therapy progresses.

Evidence-based psychotherapeutic techniques

All therapeutic techniques will be those based on evidence-based practices. The client will be ensured management that has been researched properly.
